TerraCycle Regulated Waste, Complete Recycling Solutions (CRS), and North Coast Services together provide easy-to-use, cost-effective nationwide solutions for Universal Waste recycling. Services include fluorescent lamp recycling, LED lamp recycling, ballast recycling, battery recycling, electronics recycling, PPE recycling, aerosol waste, and other specialty waste streams.

Complete Recycling Solutions is a Massachusetts DEP–permitted “Class C, Level III” recycling facility utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to recycle all mercury-bearing lamps and mercury-containing devices. Mercury and component materials are reclaimed on site at the CRS facility in Fall River, MA, which is R2 Certified (Responsible Recycling Standard, an EPA Recognized Industry Certification) for electronics recycling.

North Coast Services, headquartered in Concord, NH (R2 Certified), operates as a Large Quantity Handler Destination Facility for universal waste, providing collection, consolidation, tracking, and logistics services throughout the Northeast and beyond. With transportation and recycling services available throughout the continental United States, TerraCycle Regulated Waste, CRS, and North Coast Services help facilities improve sustainability while maintaining full regulatory compliance.                                              Why Recycle?

Implementing Universal Waste recycling is a critical green practice for large companies. We understand the importance of finding a solution that meets your facility’s needs. Prior to 1978, fluorescent light ballasts were manufactured containing insulating compounds known as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). PCBs are a known toxic hazard and a suspected carcinogen. A corporate Universal Waste recycling program with TerraCycle Regulated Waste and Complete Recycling solutions can minimize health risks, recycling costs, help ensure company-wide compliance and participation, and provide the tools needed to measure recycling progress against goals. Recycling with us can also produce benefits like green marketing opportunities, reduced liability for improper disposal, and provide time-saving relief by working with one company versus several vendors.

The challenge of managing a corporate Universal Waste recycling program is simplified by TerraCycle Regulated Waste, Complete Recycling Solutions, and North Coast Services. Together, we offer comprehensive recycling solutions for mercury-containing lamps including coated fluorescent lamps, U-tubes, mercury vapor, high pressure sodium, metal halide, ultraviolet, ARC, High Intensity Discharge (HID) and compact fluorescent lamps. CRS operates state-of-the-art lamp recycling equipment to ensure that all lamps are de-manufactured and all by-products are recovered. CRS also utilizes advanced retort technology manufactured by Summit Valley Equipment to recover mercury from contaminated devices and debris. In addition to lamps, CRS recycles thermometers, switches, thermostats, flow-meters, barometers, blood pressure cuffs, elemental mercury and other mercury-containing devices. North Coast Services further supports these efforts by providing collection, consolidation, secure storage, tracking, and regulatory compliance services as a Large Quantity Handler Destination Facility, helping customers streamline logistics, documentation, and overall program management.

Electronic waste (e-waste) represents approximately 70% of the toxic waste found in landfills and includes materials ranging from obsolete computers and televisions to circuit boards and peripherals. E-waste often contains hazardous substances such as mercury, lead, and other heavy metals that can pose serious environmental and health risks. As regulations continue to expand, proper management of electronic scrap has become increasingly important.

TerraCycle Regulated Waste, Complete Recycling Solutions, and North Coast Services recycle a wide range of electronic waste, including:

  • PCB and non-PCB capacitors and DEHP lighting ballasts
  • Computers, CPUs, servers, circuit boards, and backup systems
  • Printers, scanners, and photocopiers
  • CRT and flat-screen televisions and monitors, including LCD, OLED, and plasma
  • Transformers, capacitors, and switches

Both CRS’s R2 Certified Fall River facility and North Coast Services Concord, NH facility provide electronics triage, consolidation and demanufacture electronic equipment into core commodity components such as plastics, metals, wiring, circuit boards, and drives. North Coast Services also provides secure handling of data-containing equipment, including secure physical destruction under their NAID AAA certification for hard drives and solid state drives.

TCRW, CRS and NC provide containers, shipping documentation, pick-ups/transportation and recycling to help your facility dispose of e-waste in a cost-effective manner, while at the same time keeping the environment clean, your facility free from liability and helping you cut down on storage costs.

Batteries can contain many different components that are considered toxic. If batteries are not stored properly after use or are thrown away in the trash, these hazardous components can pose a serious threat to human and environmental health. Recycling batteries ensures that toxic components are removed, resulting in a safer workplace and a healthier environment.

Whether you are looking to recycle alkaline, mercuric oxide, silver oxide, NiCad, lead acid, lithium-ion, lithium metal, nickel metal hydride, zinc-carbon or other types of batteries, TCRW, CRS and NC offer customized solutions to discard and recycle batteries properly. Mercury batteries are processed on site at CRS utilizing our mercury distillation equipment; all other batteries are sent to a CRS approved final destination facility. North Coast Services provides collection, consolidation, packaging, and documentation services to support compliant battery recycling programs for schools, hospitals, municipalities, and businesses of all sizes. Our team ensures customers remain in compliance with all applicable state and federal battery disposal regulations.

TCRW, CRS and NC have recycled batteries from colleges/schools, hospitals, municipalities and businesses large and small. We ensure that your facility stays within all government regulations concerning battery disposal.
